Thank you! Together, we achieved our goal of raising $50,000 during #WPWeek to keep the literal and proverbial doors open and lights on for our artists and audiences until it is safe to return to the theater. Your generous donations ensure Women+ voices remain front and center, onstage and off.

#WPWeek was an online campaign from May 21 – June 4, 2021, in place of WP’s Annual Gala, dedicated to celebrating and elevating Women+ theatermakers online, onstage, and in every way we could. This exciting online event featured incredible artists from WP’s community and beyond. Throughout #WPWeek, we shared exclusive content from exciting artists from the ‘20-’21 Season, including musical appearances from Weightless’ Kofy Brown & The Kilbanes, and The Nourish Project’s Edna Vazquez, as well as guest appearances from Monica Bill Barnes & Co, Movement for the People, and more!

We also auctioned unique one-on-one experiences with extraordinary members of the WP artistic family — including private Zooms with Skylar Astin, Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski, John Clarence Stewart and more!

Serving artists has always been central to our mission. Despite constant change and industry-wide uncertainty, we remained committed to our #WPCommunity, uplifting our artists and offering steady employment. Since the COVID-19 shutdown, WP Theater proudly brought you seven incredible pieces of theatre; employed more than 80 artists and the 10 administrators who continue to make it all happen behind the scenes; and played host to almost 4,000 audience members just like you at absolutely no cost in an effort to make our theater more accessible. Our #WPCommunity includes all of us: artists, donors, staff, audiences, local businesses and more, and we are so grateful to everyone who supported the vital, resilient, and necessary work of Women+ artists.

When we say Women+ we mean people who are cis women, trans, non-binary, or gender-nonconforming people, and all gender identities which have been systematically oppressed throughout history in the theater and beyond.
