#WomenToTheFront

At our 2020 Gala, we planned to honor the extraordinary women of the Entertainment Division of Loeb & Loeb LLP.  For the safety of our guests, artists, honorees, and staff, and in compliance with state and city guidelines, we cancelled our in-person gala and launched #WomenToTheFront, a three-week long campaign honoring, celebrating, and supporting the Women+ artists, leaders, and trailblazers in our community.

#WomenToTheFront featured artist testimonials from Tony award-winning director RACHEL CHAVKIN, WP Lab Alum and Lilly Award winner DONNETTA LAVINIA GRAYS, John Gassner Award winner ALEXIS SCHEER, Mamma Mia! and Mean Girls star AMANDA SEYFRIED and more!  There were contest opportunities with Broadway superstar LAURA  BENANTI, Emmy-Award winning star of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel RACHEL BROSNAHAN, Pulitzer Prize winner MARTYNA MAJOK, two-time Pulitzer finalist SARAH RUHL, and Broadway superstar PHILLIPPA SOO.

Since we couldn’t celebrate in person, we asked Phillippa Soo to take a minute and talk about the reasons why these women, who drive the success of Loeb & Loeb’s Entertainment Division, are such trailblazers.

WP also hosted virtual reunions for Our Dear Dead Drug Lord; [Porto]; Sundown, Yellow Moon and featured performances from our 2018/2019 season Mainstage  Hatef**k, and WP commissions Afloat and Weightless. You can watch an archive of all the #WomenToTheFront content on our Facebook & Instagram pages.

In addition, WP donated a portion of the funds raised to Sanctuary for Families “…dedicated to the safety, healing, and self-determination of victims of domestic and related forms of gender violence.” We are honored to have worked with Sanctuary for Families and look forward to our continued partnership.

WP’s Annual Gala honors truly outstanding Women+ who have taken risks, pushed limits, and broken ground in a wide variety of fields, celebrating their unique accomplishments. We are pleased to honor women each year whose trailblazing excellence sets them apart as leaders in business, music, film, and theater.

When we say Women+ we mean people who are cis women, trans, non-binary, or gender-nonconforming people, and all gender identities which have been systematically oppressed throughout history in the theater and beyond.
