WP Theater’s Annual Gala 2025

On May 12, 2025 we celebrate WP Theater’s 47th Anniversary Season with our annual gala at the Edison Ballroom. This year’s gala is chaired by WP Board Members, JESSICA R. JENEN and DAVID W. SINGLETON.

We are so excited to host our biggest party and fundraiser of the year, and honor four exceptional, multi-talented Women+ leaders from a wide variety of fields. We couldn’t be more proud to highlight their extraordinary accomplishments as artists, activists, and philanthropists in the arts and business, and recognize the inspirational work they do to share their expertise and give back to their communities.

The inspirational Women+ artists and leaders we are honoring this year are Tony Award-Winning Producer, Chief Content Officer at Ambassador Theatre Group, and Broadway League Board Chair, KRISTIN CASKEY; Congresswoman from the State of Delaware, SARAH MCBRIDE; Passionate advocate for women’s financial empowerment, Founder of Invest in Girls, and Partner at Brown Advisory, DUNE THORNE; and Tony Award-Winning Actress, Singer & Producer, ADRIENNE WARREN. The evening’s festivities will be hosted by the brilliant Tony-nominated Actress, Singer, & Entrepreneur, BETSY WOLFE.

ABOUT THE HONOREES

Kristin Caskey is Chief Content Officer for ATG Entertainment, one of the leading theatrical companies in the world, where she oversees the producing and programming department for their 24 North American venues. Kristin has been an active Broadway producer for over two decades. Her award-winning credits include The Last Five Years starring Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren (upcoming), The Wiz on Broadway and current National Tour, Appropriate (Tony Award winner), Gutenberg! The Musical, Parade (Tony Award) on Broadway and current National Tour, Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite; Prima Facie; David Byrne’s American Utopia (Special Tony Award); Fun Home (Tony Award); Bring it On (Tony Nominee); The Humans (Tony Award); Red (Tony Award); Legally Blonde (Olivier Award), Caroline, or Change (Tony Nominee); Thoroughly Modern Millie (Tony Award), Death of a Salesman starring Brian Dennehy (Tony Award) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Tony Award). She is an Emmy Award nominee for HBO Max’s David Byrne’s American Utopia. She is the current Chair of The Broadway League and on the board of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband Tom and is the proud mother of Miles.

 

Congresswoman Sarah McBride proudly represents the greatest state in the nation, and our country’s First State, Delaware, as its sole member of Congress.

Sarah grew up in Wilmington and has been serving our state for decades as a public servant and advocate. From 2020-2025, Congresswoman McBride served as State Senator for the First State Senate District. She worked for former Governor Jack Markell and the late Attorney General Beau Biden, and served as the national spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ equal rights organization.

Prior to her service in the State Senate, McBride led the successful effort to pass a landmark non-discrimination law in Delaware. For her work and advocacy, former Gov. Markell awarded McBride the Order of the First State, making her one of the youngest Delawareans granted the state’s highest civilian honor.

Sarah married her late husband Andrew Cray in 2014 and is the proud aunt of seven. She is a graduate of Cab Calloway School of the Arts and American University. McBride has taught public policy at the University of Delaware and is the author of the 2018 memoir, “Tomorrow Will Be Different,” which includes a foreword from President Joe Biden.

 

Dune Thorne is a Partner at Brown Advisory an investment advisory firm managing over $170B in assets where she serves on the Executive Committee and as the Chief Strategy Officer. Her work is focused on multi-generational planning for global families and family offices with a focus on engaging women and sustainable and impact investing.
In 2010 she founded Invest in Girls, a non-profit focused on financial literacy for under-represented high-school girls that works with over 6,000 girls across the country and is continuing to grow and expand through its combination with The Council for Economic Education.

Dune has been honored with numerous awards, including the Top 50 Women Leaders of Massachusetts, EV Kids Youth Champion Award, World Economic Forum’ Young Global Leader, Advisor One’s Top 50 Women in Wealth, and Boston Business Journal’s Emerging Leader. A frequent speaker, radio and television interviewee, Dune authored her own TEDx talk, “Jump to the New S Curve: Unleash the Power of Inclusion” and been quoted in financial journals as well as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Forbes.com.

Dune attended Harvard Business School where she received an MBA and was the recipient of a Summer Social Enterprise Fellowship in 2003. She holds a BA from Dartmouth College in Economics where she was captain of the nationally ranked Women’s Lacrosse team and received All-Ivy Academic Honors. She is a graduate of the Boston Center for Community & Justice Lead Boston Program, the Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Leadership in Energy Innovation and Environmental Consideration at Princeton University.

Ms. Thorne has three children and her personal passions are the arts, running, skiing, golf, tennis, traveling, being outside and active with her family and doing everything she can to help build a more equitable and just society.

 

Adrienne Warren’s talent as a singer, actress, and dancer has established her as a dynamic triple threat.

Warren is perhaps most well known for her Tony Award-winning performance as Tina Turner in Broadway’s Tina: The Tina Turner Musical. Warren originated the role in numerous workshops of the show, working together with Tina Turner herself to embody the titular role. Warren transferred the role to Broadway following the 2018 West End production, for which she earned 2019 Olivier, Evening Standard, and Joe Allen Award nominations.

Warren’s performance in the Broadway run has been heralded as “extraordinary” (The Hollywood Reporter), “electrifying” (Rolling Stone) and “star-making” (The New York Times). In addition to the Tony Award, she also received a Chita Rivera nomination and the Drama Desk, Antonyo, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her iconic performance.

Warren previously earned Tony and Chita Rivera Award nominations for her performance as Gertrude Saunders/Florence Mills in the Broadway production of Shuffle Along opposite Audra McDonald. Warren made her Broadway debut in 2012’s Bring It On: The Musical and previously appeared onstage in The Wiz (Encores! City Center) and Dreamgirls (The Apollo; NAACP Theatre Award nomination). She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2017 with the New York Pops and continues to perform around the world. In 2023, she was featured on PBS’s annual “A Capitol Fourth” performing an electrifying tribute to the late Tina Turner.

Warren can currently be seen in the highly anticipated feature film, Rustin, starring Coleman Domingo, and The Woman King, starring Viola Davis. She starred as Benny in Hulu’s Black Cake, based on the best-selling book. Warren will star and serve as executive producer on the new Peacock series Dreamland. Warren starred as Mamie Till-Mobley, who devoted her life to seeking justice for her son Emmett Till, in Women of the Movement, a limited series for ABC. Other television and film credits include Paws & Fury: The Legend of Hank, Helpsters, Quantico, Black Box, Blue Bloods, and Orange is the New Black. Warren’s voice can also be heard as the iconic spokesperson for Maybelline Cosmetics.

Warren is a co-founder of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC), which unites artists, experts, students, and community leaders to use storytelling and artistry to combat systemic racism. BAC received a special Tony Award in 2021.

She is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College and the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, Virginia.

 

ABOUT THE HOST

Betsy Wolfe was most recently seen in the hit musical & Juliet as Anne Hathaway where her performance was nominated for the 2023 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Previously, Wolfe starred as Jenna Hunterson, the title role in the Tony nominated musical Waitress, Cordelia in the Broadway revival of Falsettos, and her critically acclaimed performance as Cathy in the off-Broadway revival of The Last Five Years. She starred in the holiday film Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol With A Twist, the indie film First One In, and had a guest starring role on the CBS series Instinct. Other Broadway credits include Ellen in Bullets Over Broadway, Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 110 in the Shade, and Everyday Rapture. Wolfe made her Metropolitan Opera debut in Die Fledermaus.

She has been a guest artist for over 60 symphony, pops, and philharmonic orchestras around the world including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The New York Pops and the BBC Orchestra.
