Sarah Ruhl, one of the theater’s most celebrated playwrights, teams up with WP Theater to present this New York premiere production. Drawn from the famed correspondence between Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell – two of the twentieth century’s most brilliant poets – Dear Elizabeth tells a tale of unconventional friendship and intimacy that spanned thirty years and more than 400 letters, with postmarks from Maine to Key West, from London to South America. Dressed in a pair of everyday men’s suits, performers Monica Bill Barnes and Anna Bass crash the party playing two totally familiar guys who go to great lengths to win over the crowd.
